UNIVERSITY OF MAINE
FIGURE SKATING CLUB
Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need experience?
To join you do not need to know how to skate at all! We have members who are more than happy to help teach anyone how to skate during our ice sessions. We have anywhere from people skating for the first time to advanced skaters. All levels are welcome.
How much are dues?
Currently, our dues are $30 a semester. For competition team, they are around $60. Dues only cover ice time, so if you decide to join competition team, there are additional things you can to pay for (costumes, competition fees, travel fees etc.) We will try out best to fundraise other out of pocket expenses!
Do I need my own skates?
You do not need your own skates. As a member of the figure skating club, you can rent skates from alfond arena with no extra charge. We also have skates owned by the club and hope to get more soon!
Will I be able to handle Academics and Skating?
